Every project starts with a blank canvas, and honestly, this one looked a little intimidating at first. ๐ I knew I wanted to create a stained-glass inspired sea turtle, but I also wanted it to feel colorful, textured, and full of movement.
Instead of painting every section, I mixed different materials to give the shell a real mosaic feel. I used glitter paper, felt, patterned cardstock, and metallic papers, then outlined each piece in black to create that stained-glass effect. The layered waves and seaweed help bring the whole underwater scene together without taking attention away from the turtle.
One of my favorite parts was watching the shell slowly come together. Each little section was different, but once everything was outlined, it finally looked like one complete piece.

What would you have added to the ocean scene? I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments!
